Ultimate Tradesmen offers a full benefit package to all its employees, as we are a member of the Merit Benefits Association through Mercon Benefit Services.
All field employees working for Ultimate Tradesmen Ltd, after completing a minimum of 300 cumulative hours will be eligible for a full benefits package with Mercon Benefits. Once an individual has reached this goal they will now only have to accumulate 150 hours per month to remain in benefit. If you are already receiving Mercon Benefits either from a previous employer and are already a part of the hours bank program, then you are already halfway there! All you need to do is simply fill out an enrollment card (provided at time of application) and begin banking your hours again. Mercon will automatically transfer your hours to our program and continue to supply your benefits.
Merit provides benefits, training, and human resource tools to the construction industry.
The membership of the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) consists of employers whose Alberta Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) account falls within participating Industry Codes.
Funding for the ACSA is provided by the membership through an arrangement with the WCB.
The group retirement savings plan (RSP) for the Employees of Ultimate Tradesmen Ltd., sponsored by Ultimate Tradesmen Ltd. has been established with Manulife Financial.
The purpose of the Plan is to offer a group registered retirement savings plan to you as part of a total compensation program and to provide you with a convenient, tax-effective method of saving for your retirement. The Plan is only intended to provide a portion of your overall retirement savings. Your Plan Sponsor encourages you to seek independent financial advice to ensure overall savings strategies will meet your retirement income needs.
The Plan is a registered retirement savings plan (RSP). You and your Plan Sponsor contribute to the Plan on a regular basis. You may make voluntary Member contributions. A Member account is set up in your name under the Plan, alternatively, you can establish an account under the Plan for your spouse or common-law partner. All contributions are kept in your Member account or the account maintained for your spouse or common-law partner. All contributions made by you and your Plan Sponsor are tax deductible and any investment earnings grow tax-deferred. You choose how contributions are invested from the choices available under the Plan. Your spouse or common-law partner chooses how contributions directed to their spousal account are invested, within a range of investment options offered under the Plan. The amount available for your retirement depends on the total contributions made and the investment returns they earn. You will receive regular statements and access to information and tools to help you manage your Member account. Similarly, if you establish a spousal account, your spouse or common-law partner will receive regular statements and access to information and tools to help manage his/her account. Information about what happens when you terminate your employment, retire, or die is available upon request.

There is no charge to get registered with Ultimate Tradesmen. When you use one of our skilled craftsmen, you will simply be billed the hourly rate times the number of hours worked, allowing you to pay for productive hours only. Our rates are fully inclusive WCB, and all taxes and burdens.
We have full time trade recruiters that have no less than 5 years of construction experience who use traditional advertising, networking and referral programs.
We have developed a rigorous screening process that includes in house testing, at least six trade references and an interview that is designed to weed out the less qualified and allow us to identify and hire the best!
Simply call your Ultimate Tradesmen Representative or the office with a detailed description of what you are looking for and our Trade Recruiter will select the proper and most qualified candidate for you. You will then be advised of the person’s qualifications and bill rate.
Planning is the key to productivity and to getting the right craftsmen. Your Ultimate Tradesmen Representative will work with you to help plan out your labour needs. A few days’ notice is best to get the right person to your projects, however, if you have a crisis management situation, give us a call and we will do everything possible to make it work for you!
Once our craftsmen are hired, we constantly look to you, our partners, to evaluate and rate our employees. We keep only those that make the high standards we set for our craftsmen and are constantly replacing the bottom 10% who simply don’t make the grade. Plus, our employees and the entire staff at Ultimate Tradesmen know that we are a labour provider and our work speaks for itself. So our merit based philosophy entices our employees to do better so they can make more money.
Ultimate Tradesmen guarantees the worker sent to your jobsite will be of the quality you expect and will have the knowledge you requested. If in the first 2 hours, you do not feel this is the case, simply contact us and you will not be billed for any time for that individual. Ultimate Tradesmen will replace that worker as soon as possible.
