Job Description:
We are seeking motivated and safety-focused Riggers to join our team. This role involves the preparation, inspection, attachment, and movement of loads using rigging equipment to support lifting and hoisting operations. Candidates with experience in construction, industrial maintenance, Oil & Gas, fabrication, manufacturing, or heavy civil projects are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, select, and safely use rigging equipment including slings, chains, shackles, hooks, and lifting devices.
- Prepare and secure loads for lifting, moving, and placement.
- Interpret lift plans, load weights, and rigging requirements.
- Communicate effectively with crane operators, signal persons, supervisors, and other team members during lifting operations.
- Inspect rigging equipment and report any defects or safety concerns.
- Assist with loading, unloading, positioning, and installation of materials and equipment.
- Ensure all lifting and rigging activities are performed in accordance with site procedures and safety regulations.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of previous experience in rigging, construction, industrial maintenance, crane operations, or related fields.
- Rigging certification or recognized training is required.
- Knowledge of load calculations, hand signals, lifting equipment, and safe rigging practices is beneficial.
- Experience working with cranes, hoists, and heavy equipment is an asset.
- Valid safety tickets such as CSTS, WHMIS, Fall Protection, and Mobile Elevated Work Platform are an asset depending on project requirements.
- Physically fit and capable of performing demanding work in industrial and construction environments.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are considered assets.
